Community Question-Answering
It's often people, not web sites, who have the best answers to questions.
Search engines are very powerful at finding products or web pages, but they aren't very good at providing advice. Askville's emphasis on social interactions as well as answering questions is what has made it one of the largest community Q&A sites on the web.
Initially incubated within Amazon.com and chartered to drive innovation in the Question and Answer space, Askville is now managed by A9. Since the transition, our team has been exploring how to extend the reach of the site and, at the same time, support the existing community.
Problems must be understood from technical and social angles. For example, we continually invest in innovative methods to get answers to our questioners quickly. That doesn't just mean deploying faster servers and algorithms. It also means understanding how Askville is used, and deploying solutions that builds on our customers' engagement level and particpation style.
The community Question-Answering space is still a green field. We have the room to explore and experiment and tap into the possibilities of leveraging a connected world.
